As requested from our internet audience, here is a breakdown of the Adobe Social Networking video with before and after shots. The original footage will display first and then wipe to the final edited version, showing color correction, rotoscoping, and inserted graphics. First we filmed our actors in real-world environments and occasionally we used a green screen. Then we added the visual effects to enhance the story using a combination of programs including SynthEyes, Cinema 4D and After Effects.

Our actors had to imagine the interfaces that were later inserted. They interacted with invisible interfaces by “navigating” in the air, on a prop, or with a green screen.

A couple scenes were motion tracked using the program SynthEyes. The motion tracking information was then exported to Cinema 4D where we applied it to the 3D animated objects, like the newspaper and racetrack, before they were finally inserted into the After Effects scene. To learn more about this section of the project you should check out the previous blog post, SynthEyes Wide Open.
